When daddy came home yesterday Runa was feeling really bad. I watched over her and she was lying by my side. Then mum and dad noticed that her head was really tilted and that she didn't n want food. Mum at once expected this to be the parasite E. cuniculi so we went right to the vet (our regular vet didn't have time to us so we had to drive the car really far this time).
When we came to the vet I was really afraid and thought they was going to look on me. Frigg was brave as usual, but Runa was really afraid and pretended she was feeling well.
The vet came to the same conclusion as mummy, and since it's a really dangerous parasite for rabbits we're all on antiparasitic medication now. Runa also have to take antibiotics and have her teeth fixed.
Today Runa still don't want to eat that much so daddy had to feed her with Critical Care this morning.
We're going to our regular vet today and hopefully we also will get some painkillers since she grinds her teeth sometimes. We all also have to take blood samples to check for E. cuniculi.
Right now we're all really afraid.
The picture is of me guarding Runa while she eats some Critical Care by herself some minutes ago. I also wanted some after she was finished, but stupid mum took it away..

Hello
Today I helped pappi with the human breakfast.
Pappi left the dough to swell on the hot bathroom floor.
I helped him out by jumping on the dough.
Pappi was really happy and appreciated my skills.

Every day I and Frigg gets 1 papaya tablet (1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the evening), while Aristoteles gets two. The humans says it's because he has problems with his tummy (since papaya tablets aid digestion), but it's unfair anyway!
So today I decided to snatch the box from the table, and it worked!
I ran and ran so the humans wouldn't catch me, and so I didn't have to share with Aristoteles and Frigg.
Unfortunately the box turned out to be empty, even though it smelled delicious.
But mum filled it with some pellets though, so now it's okay. Even though dad took the box from me since I started to chew on the plastic...

Her name is Frigg, but she was formerly known as Blåbæret.
She's a rescue so we don't know how old she is, and she won't tell us either.
We will introduce her to Runa and Aristoteles on a neutral area soon :)

Hello fellow rabbits. Today I want to share with you how to eat your hay. You like my brother are probably eating your hay inside your hay station for convince. But it actually tastes phenomenal when you drag it all over the floor. And daddy gives you a cute look :-)

So even though he doesn’t live here, this entry will be about a 10 year old rabbit called Erling. He was just rescued from a life in a small cage that he had been living in his whole life. He's human was originally the children that lived in the house when Erling was a small bunny baby. It was fun in a while cause they loved him as long as he was a baby, even though he had to live in a small cage. But then the humans stopped coming that much, and in the end they even gave him away to someone else because they though it was a hassle to go out and feed him.
To be given away was actually really fortunate for him, because now he has gotten himself a loving family with two other bunny friends and he finally gets to live like everybun should: As a free-roaming house bunny that lives together with her or his humans inside.
But 10 years in a cage is not god for anybun and Erling had problems to walk after being let out of his cage. And x-ray pictures from Marit Emilie's blog shows what actually happens to you're muscles and your organs when living in a cage for so long: The pictures show (se link below) a comparison between Melis (Marit is Melis' human) and Erling, where you can see that Erling's muscles aren't able to hold his organs in place at all.
You can read more and see the pictures here:
- Ti år i bur og effektene av et stillesittende liv (Norwegian)
- Ten years in a cage and the effects of a sedentary life (Norwegian to English by Google Translate)
Here Erling is getting checked and treated by vet called Heidi Stenstad (picture used with permission from Marit Emilie):
The most terrible thing about this is that mummy and daddy have told us that this is the usual way rabbits are living in Norway and the rest of the world. That's so terrible and sad! We only have to sit in a cage when we're going some were, and sometimes we have to be in a pen when someone is looking after us. And that's terrible enough even though our pen is bigger than the cage Erling lived in. Poor poor, Erling..
Why we rabbits are not supposed to live in cages

But today both Runa and I are guarding our sick daddy (formerly known as A) that's sleeping in the bedroom. We also sleep a little but wake up and check on daddy every time he makes a sound.
